100년 후 우리는 모두 흙이다.
경주 남산의 불곡 감실부처님 얼굴은 어디선가 만난 것 같은 내 모습이다. / 보연사지 옆에 사는 할매 얼굴은 그 곳 민불을 닮았다. / 경주박물관 뒤뜰 고선사 탑은 수덕하고 기품있는 아낙의 모습을 담고 있다. / 돌이나 바위에 새겨진 장승이나 부처를 보며 옛사람들과 조우했다. / 황룡사지 빈 절터 주춧돌 위에서 절을 거닐었던 신라사람들을 상상하며 토우를 만들었다. / 사람이 땅과 자연을 닮고 그 안에 신화가 있다. / 토우들 속에 나와 가족 친구 이야기가 자리잡는다. / 흙에서 온 작은 토우를 사람처럼 만나기 위해 portrait로 사진 찍고 사람크기로 장지에 프린트 했다. /토우가 흙사람이 되어 문을 열고 걸어 나와 시간과 공간을 넘어 환생한다. / 하여 그 곳에 있을 우리들이었던 Clay mate를 소개한다.

In a hundred years, we all will be clay.

The face of the Buddha in the tabernacle at Kyoung Ju, Nam San Bul Gok, seems to be a face that I've encountered somewhere. It is my reflection.

An elderly lady lives next to Bo Yeon Sa Ji. Her face resembles the Min Bul (plebeian buddha sculpture) there.

The Ko Seon Sa pogoda located in the back garden of the Kyoung Ju museum, is ascetic and filled with the elegance of a woman's form.

I encounter people from long ago, as I see a Jang Seung (tradition Korean totem pole at a village entrance) or a buddha engraved in a stone or boulder.

On top of a corner stone of the empty temple ruin of Hwang Leung Sa Ji, I imagine the Silla (Silla Dynasty) People strolling along. And from this, I made a clay mate.

People resemble nature and land, and in this is mythology.

Inside the clay mate, nestles the stories of my friends and family.

To have an encounter with the clay mate, to encounter them as people, I made life size photo portrait and printed them on slides.

The clay mate becomes a person of clay, opens the door and walks out, reincarnated, going beyond space and time.

And so, I will introduce the clay mate that will be at that place, the clay mate that were once us.
